Trump Organization Sought to Bring In Nearly 200 Workers on Visas in 2025

Donald Trump’s corporate entity accelerated its hiring of foreign workers on short-term work permits this year, even as his administration was placing obstacles for other companies wanting to do the same, a report published recently claimed.

According to information from the federal labor department, the Trump Organization sought to hire at least 184 foreign workers in the coming year for short-term roles at the US president’s Mar-a-Lago resort, two golf clubs and his winery in Virginia.

The quantity of requests for H-2A and H-2B visas covering staff including waitstaff, clerks, cleaning staff, culinary employees and farm workers was the highest ever filed by the company, and up from over 120 in 2021, when Trump’s first term concluded.

It was also the fifth instance in a decade that Trump had attempted to bring in over a hundred overseas workers for seasonal jobs at Mar-a-Lago, based on available data.

The disclosure coincides with a tightening on immigration laws by his administration that has included the introduction of a substantial charge on skilled worker visas; extra scrutiny of the activities of the 55 million people who possess US visas; and restrictive new rules for international scholars and reporters.

In total, the Trump Organization sought to hire over 560 foreign laborers over the five years Trump has been in the presidency, from 2017 to 2021 and during the upcoming year.

Notably, the former president was criticized by certain in the Republican party this week for comments justifying the need for foreign workers when a company was unable to find people with “particular skills” to occupy particular roles.

“You cannot just say a nation is coming in, going to invest $10bn to construct a plant, and going to take people off an unemployment line who haven’t worked in years, and they’re going to start making their defense systems. It isn’t feasible that well,” he stated to a host after it was implied that overseas employees undercut the pay of US workers.

The White House refused a inquiry for response, and the Trump Organization did not provide an answer to an request for information.
