An Australian man that leaped over a barricade and reached for celebrity Ariana Grande has been sent away and prohibited from Singapore.

Johnson Wen, twenty-six, was given a sentence to over a week in jail for disrupting public order and has now been "banned from entering the country again," the country's border control stated to local media.

He forced his way beyond security and approached aggressively the performer and artist, who was attending the Asian premier for the film on November 13. Co-star Cynthia Erivo wrestled him away from Grande.

He has a background of causing disturbances at events and celebrity events, including rushing the stage at the pop star's Australian show in June this year.

The incident provoked strong reactions in Singapore, with many claiming he of triggering past trauma for the singer.

The pop star has mentioned experiencing PTSD after a explosive incident at her performance in the UK city in spring of 2017 killed over twenty people and hurt numerous attendees.

In the legal process, the judge was informed he had attempted to intrude on the film's premiere on two occasions, according to local news sources.

He then made a another effort to breach security. Security staff stopped him and held him in place.

He then uploaded videos expressing gratitude to the star for permitting his access and said he was "free."

Authorities detained him the following day and accused him with public nuisance, to which he confessed.

The Court Judge Christopher Goh was referenced by a news outlet as stating that Wen was "attention seeking", commenting that he was mistaken to think he would not suffer any consequences.

Grande has not addressed the situation.

The co-star mentioned the situation to NBC, saying that she "just wanted to ensure my friend was protected."

"I believe he had no intention to us harm, but you can't predict with such situations, and I wanted to make sure that she was alright. That was my immediate response," she commented.
