'Living a Nightmare': Loved Ones of Missing Teenagers Await News After Alpine Inferno

The families of teenagers unaccounted for after a deadly fire at a venue in a Swiss alpine town are enduring an painful wait for answers and requesting any details about their family members via social media.

The blaze devastated the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the Swiss Alps of the Valais region, in the small hours of the first day of the year. Confirmed images reveal the ceiling igniting as bottles with sparklers are held aloft.

Officials have indicated that it could take considerable time to identify the fatalities of the tragedy, which killed 40 people and injured another over a hundred. Officials stated on the latest update that 113 of the injured have been accounted for, with the process ongoing to locate the remaining few.

In the waiting period, relatives have been posting on the internet to request information about their missing relatives who were present at the venue that fateful night.

Appeals for the Missing

The fate of teenager from Switzerland Arthur Brodard, sixteen, are currently unknown, according to an public plea from his mother.

The who lives of Lutry near the city, informed a local newspaper that she had returned to the city to check whether he was in the hospital, while his father did the same in Bern, but could not find him.

"I'm living a nightmare, a horror. Either I find my son in the hospital mortuary, or I find him in a serious state. It's horrific," she said.

She continued that some of his friends had been located with injuries covering a significant portion of their bodies. "It's indescribable; they endured hell."

The Italian government has said that six of its young people remain missing.

Young athlete Emanuele Galeppini, 16, was last in contact around the turn of the new year on December 31st, his father said.

Among them is Emanuele Galeppini, a 16-year-old sportsman, who hailed from Genoa but now residing in the UAE.

The national sporting body has said that he is no longer with us, without directly referencing the tragedy, honoring a "talented young man who embodied dedication and authentic values."

His father, is quoted as saying that his son was at the bar and was last in contact around midnight. An official spokesperson has clarified that a official announcement of his death is awaited.

Other Cases

Giovanni Tamburi, sixteen, is also unaccounted for. His mother explained that he had been on holiday but had gone out with a group and ended up at the bar.

"A close friend said they fled after the fire broke out and that he had his mobile with him, but then at a certain point he they were separated," she said, adding he had been wearing a distinctive gold chain.

One of his educators commented, "I remember his kindness and smile, alongside great responsibility. Often offer to help out."

Alice Kallergis, who holds both Swiss and Greek citizenship but lives permanently in the country, was also present on that night, according to reports.

Her sibling has posted an urgent request on social media, saying the family has had "no updates" regarding the teenager or the three friends she was with, who are also unaccounted for.

Consular authorities from her country of origin say they are continuing to monitor the developments.
