Over the course of the show, audiences saw murders, double-crosses, intense glares, and an unforgettable incident that cut through all tension.

However on Thursday night, the final winner of the inaugural celebrity edition emerged triumphant.

From nineteen participants, only five remained: Traitors and faithfuls competing for the winnings.

Before long, the field narrowed to just three: the final players.

In the end, comedian Alan Carr was crowned the winner, in a surprising outcome that went viral and made him tearful.

Following this was the challenge, with the remaining contestants getting on board a train named - of course - The Deceivers' Railway.

This task saw them ripping up portraits of eliminated players. Have sympathy for one participant who managed to get hit on the head multiple times by the lid of a heavy wooden box.

Before long, it was time for the elimination discussion.

Two traitors did a pinky promise in advance, vowing to support each other. "We've progressed significantly, I won't throw him under a bus," said a player, while their partner just giggled.

However, one adhered to their agreement. But, managing to stay under the radar for most of the game, their partner still got the most votes.

The remaining traitor looked like to be experiencing significant distress to be the last traitor standing. "Now I'm on my own, I feel terrified," he said. "I'm a loose cannon, a rudderless ship."

A player was eliminated in dramatic fashion - following a surprising decision from their partner, who betrayed them.

"It hurts to be betrayed at the final moment like that," said the ousted contestant. Later, we learned that if they ever communicate, the eliminated contestant calls the other as a traitor.

Finally, just three players were still competing: the final trio.

One player, appearing quite pleased, voted to end the competition. So did a different player, and it all came down to the third, who did the same - resulting in the deceiver emerged victorious.

For observers, the moment where the other players comforted the champion was "compelling television". "I anticipate it could be a contender for memorable moment at television honors," they commented.

Fortunately, the champion quickly regained composure from his emotional outburst, and was able to enjoy his victory.

"What a rollercoaster. I was awful at lying, my expressions gave me away and now I stand a winner," the winner said.
